Uniform

At Mokoia Intermediate, we believe our school uniform helps create a strong sense of pride, belonging, and identity. Wearing the Mokoia uniform reflects our commitment to representing ourselves, our whānau, and our school community with respect and pride.

Our uniform has been designed to be practical, affordable, and comfortable for everyday learning. The majority of uniform items are readily available from The Warehouse, making it easy and convenient for families to purchase throughout the year.

Uniform Expectations

Students are expected to wear the correct Mokoia Intermediate uniform to and from school and while representing the school at events and activities.

Our uniform includes:

• Mokoia Intermediate polo shirt or PE shirt
• Navy shorts
• Navy blue or black socks
• Navy blue caps or beanies with no logos or insignia
• Appropriate footwear, including black leather or canvas lace-up shoes, or black Roman sandals with a back strap

For health and safety reasons, covered-in black shoes are compulsory for technology classes. Jandals, slides, Crocs, and gumboots are not permitted.

School Hoodies

Mokoia school hoodies are available to purchase directly through the school and provide an additional layer of warmth during the cooler months. These hoodies are part of the approved school uniform and can be worn alongside the official uniform items.

To maintain a consistent and professional appearance, non-uniform hoodies, jumpers, and jackets are not permitted. The approved school fleece, jacket, and school hoodie are the only outerwear items that may be worn as part of the school uniform.

Personal Presentation

Students are encouraged to present themselves in a manner that reflects the values and expectations of our school community.

• Jewellery should be kept to a minimum, with plain studs, taonga, or a watch permitted.
• False eyelashes and make-up are not permitted.
• Hair must be tied back during physical education, technology, and specialist classes where required for health and safety reasons.
