Kia ora parents, caregivers, and whānau,
I hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable long weekend. ‘Congratulations’ to the ‘Chess Team’ that travelled to Wellington with our parent support crew. They did our school very proud and got some extremely awesome results, coming 4th/5th overall and our individual players placing between 20th and 32nd. Thank you everyone. School athletics was a huge success today with many student participants, and giving their best. The highlight of the day were the finals of the running events. We have some very fast runners and sprinters.
A huge shout out to Mr Upston (he has hiked the track 6 times now) and the other teachers, support staff and parents that have been hiking the Tarawera track for the past 3 weeks. What an incredible experience and achievement. This has been a successful EOTC programme added to our curriculum this term.
‘Congratulations’ to the present year 8 girls and ex students of Mokoia intermediate for the 2025 Year 9 & year 10 scholarship awards for Rotorua Girls High School. We are so proud of you all.
‘Congratulations’ to Maddy and Ikimoke who participated in the BMXNZ North Island Champs over the weekend. They raced hard all weekend and came away with the titles. Ikimoke 1st, 11 year old boys and Maddy 1st, 12 year old girls.
Well done to all students who participated in Gumboot Friday.
Finally our Food and Fun Fair takes place in 2 weeks time on Friday 15th November. Thanks for all the donations thus far, we still need parent help. Please contact Whaea Jess or Whaea Kathryn.
