Mrs Jones’s Shout Out

What an incredible week it’s been! Our students have had the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities that highlight their talents and strengths. We were thrilled to host the Epro8 semifinals and finals for both Year 7 and Year 8, as well as for Year 5 and Year 6. The creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills on display were truly impressive. Congratulations to all our participants for their hard work and dedication.

In the realm of sports, our students competed in the Super 11 Tournament for League, showing remarkable sportsmanship and teamwork. It’s wonderful to see our students actively participating in these events.

A particularly meaningful highlight this week was the visit from Jazz, Gen, and Ty from Voices of Hope. They delivered an exceptional talk on mental health, emphasizing the importance of talking to each other, checking in on friends, and understanding that asking for help is a sign of strength. Their message was powerful, blending serious moments with light-hearted laughter, and left a lasting impact on our tamariki.

Looking ahead, please remember that next week will be a shorter week. We have our 3-way conferences scheduled, which are a valuable opportunity for students, parents, and teachers to discuss progress and set future goals. I encourage all families to engage fully in these conferences to support our students’ learning journeys.

Additionally, we will observe a public holiday on Friday in celebration of Matariki. This is a special time for reflection, celebration, and looking forward to the year ahead.
